SYDA win the YORKSHIRE REGION MEET
MARDI GRAS PARADE 2025
The Region meet was attended by many SYDA members and they outnumbered the other DA’s and groups. The Mardi Gras parade was entered by a few groups who produced good displays to embrace the theme chosen for 2025 which was “CIRCUS”
The entertainment was generally of good quality (although one of the artists initially had a sound system issue.)
The sports and games were played in warm dry weather by many teams with Volleyball, football, walking football and Tug of War included.
There were also raffle tickets sold over the weekend with all of the many winning numbers announced after the closing ceremony. The big prize winners were announced on stage with the smaller prize winning numbers listed in the marquee.
All in all it was a good weekend again especially as SYDA won the Mardi Gras parade again.
I believe it was stated that the theme for the Mardi Gras 2026 will be “FILMS”
