SEABURN SHOWGROUND is located on the sea front alongside one of the biggest camp shops we have ever come across - Morrisons supermarket. This is a large mainly flat field just across the road from the clean, sandy beach. There are a couple of amusement arcades along the promenade, take - aways and restaurants to either side of the site, bus stops with regular services into SUNDERLAND, SOUTH SHIELDS and a METRO line for travelling further afield in town if you wish.

SOUTER LIGHTHOUSE, a famous local landmark is a short drive up the coast, a little further in the same direction is SOUTH SHIELDS at the mouth of the river TYNE where all manner of ships enter and leave the docks at NEWCASTLE. NORTH SHIELDS, which can be reached either by ferry or a drive through the TYNE TUNNEL (toll applies), has a massive castle and some fantastic views far down the coast.

To the south of Seaburn is ROKER PARK, an easy walk, the LIFEBOAT STATION has a fund - raising event whic this year will be on Sunday 22nd August starting at 11:00 a.m. with displays on land and water. The NATIONAL GLASS MUSEUM, which has glass panels on the roof and which visitors can walk on, (a strange experience), is a little further along the road. SUNDERLAND is a short drive away or there is an excellent bus service which has a turn - round spot about 50 yards from the site entrance.

The city of DURHAM is within driving distance as is the ANGEL OF THE NORTH and the BEAMISH MUSEUM.

SEABURN SHOWGROUND is in an excellent location, with very clean, safe, sandy beaches ideal if you like to explore local history or just laze away the days in your unit.
