SOUTH YORKSHIRE DISTRICT ASSOCIATION
'OUR BEGINNINGS'
Our first committee meeting was held on 17th January 1960. Mr. J Smith served as Chairman until 11th September 1960 then Mr. F Green was elected Chairman at the committee meeting held on 23rd October 1960.
The inaugural S.Y.D.A. AGM was held on 12th March 1961 and Mr. F Green stayed on as Chairman until July 23rd with D GILL taking over on the same date.There were 8 committee members:-W Booth, J Smith, F Green, D Gill, R Bamford, H Scott, E Smeaton and A Wilford.
The auditors were Mrs. P Dale and Mrs. M Bamford
The S.Y.D.A. Chairman was elected by the committee, this continued until the 1981 AGM and our longest continuous serving Chairman was H Whitaker from 7th November 1970 to 26th October 1980.
